Posters of the current vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has started popping up in the Northern Region, showing him as the candidate for NPP flagbearer in 2020.
The source of the posters are unknown, but they reflect a certain thinking in NPP circles and raise numerous questions.
According to mynewsgh, the posters are littered through principal streets of the region, home to the current Veep.
They seem to imply that President Nana Akufo-Addo would step down after one term, and that Bawumia would fight to become the NPP’s first non Akan flagbearer.
There’s no indication the source of the posters, and it’s unlikely that they are legitimate. But with the turning 74 in March, the questions would always swirl over whether he would be physically fit to run for a second term in 2020, when he would be 76 and would have to finish his presumed four year term extension at 80.
