NDC Member of Parliament for Kumbungu in the Northern region, Ras Mubarak, has become embroiled in some public drama after he got married over the weekend and media houses reporting on it got the info wrong.
Mubarak wed Huseina Muntaka, a daughter of famed Asawase MP Mubarak Muntaka, on Sunday, in a traditional Islamic ceremony.
It was reported that Huseina was the MP’s second wife, as allowed by Islamic law.
However, that prompted his ‘first’ wife, who is actually now divorced, to come out publicly to speak about the issue.
According to Rasheeda Adams, she divorced the MP over a year ago and is happy he has gotten married again so he leaves her to live her life in peace.

She also claimed the divorce was due to abuse she suffered at the hands of Mubarak which made her walk out of the marriage.
“[The] said marriage has been over for more than a year, as we are now in court over custody matters. The marriage ended due to extremely abusive behavior from Mr. Mubarak towards me. We have not lived together for the last 1 year,” she claimed in the post
Unfortunately for the MP, the day after his wedding has become a media circus instead of a quite day of enjoying with his new wife.
