WanLov Da Kubolor Says Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan Is ‘An Idiot Of The Highest Quality’

Wanlov Da Kubolor
Wanlov Da Kubolor

Before the many dim legal minds start saying what Wanlov Da Kubolor said about President Goodluck Jonathan amounts to defamation, let me point out that, even though what he said is grossly offensive, it is merely his opinion—and therefore, he has not defamed the President. (You can read my recent article on defamation from here). However, I believe his statement wasn’t necessary as it does not contribute to the discourse.

Nigeria has been in the news for the last few days for introducing harsh anti-gay laws which does not only criminalize homosexuals but also, suspected homosexuals.

The new law-Same Sex Marriage Prohibition Act introduces penalties of up to 14 years in jail for a gay marriage and up to ten years for membership or encouragement of gay clubs and groups.

It also brings in 10-year sentences for gay couples who display affection in public, and harsh penalties for those who try to help homosexuals avoid detection.

Before jumping unto a flight to Tokyo, Japan, Ghana’s controversial musician-WanLov Da Kubolor who sung ‘Thank God I AM Not A Nigerian‘ took to his facebook to express his fear about Nigeria’s new anti-gay law, saying;

President Mahama Says He Is Being Forced To SACK Finance Minister-Seth Terkper

John Mahama

I do not think sacking the Finance Minister will change anything in Ghana—probably sacking the entire Government may make a difference. The compounding problems of Ghana is not being caused by the dealings of one person-the Finance Minister.

According to President John Dramani Mahama, extensive pressure is being mounted on him from within to sack Finance Minister-Seth Terkper for doing what the president sees to be right for the economy, though, bad for politics…

According to Radio XYZ;

President John Mahama says there’s pressure mounting on him from within his own government to sack his finance Minister.

He said certain reforms being engineered by Seth Terkper to tweak the economy to not only break the cycle of ills inherent within it but also fix certain fiscal weaknesses through some reforms, have got tongues wagging in the government, thus the pressure for his dismissal.

Ahead Of 2014 Ghana Music Awards, Kwabena Kwabena Says ‘Adult Music’ Has No Profanity

Kwabena Kwabena Album Launch (1)
Kwabena Kwabena

Considering the fact that R2Bee’s ‘Agyei’ was disqualified from competing in last year’s  Vodafone Ghana Music Awards due to its sexual connotations and innuendos, many think it will be unfair if Kwabena Kwabena’s hit song-Adult Music sails through…

Knowing what lies ahead of him, Kwabena Kwabena has launched a bid to create an over-reaching impression that the song which was labelled +18 should not be treated as ‘Agyei’, saying, there isn’t any element of profanity in the song.

On the face of it, profanity can be both explicit and subtle—and considering the fact that the song was classified as +18, we think Kwabena Kwabena will have a lot of convincing to do if he wants to distinguish his situation from that which R2Bees suffered.

We think Kwabena Kwabena is right for saying the song has no explicit profanity. But profanity can come in different forms, including subtle…

According to Graphic Showbiz;

he song is now virtually on air at all times without regard to its strong lyrics and sexual undertones and Kwabena Kwabena says he does not regret that Adult Musik is now free for all.

“I am quite comfortable with the manner most radio stations play my music. Yes, the title of the song suggests that they are for adults but I don’t really get worried when I hear it being played on air at times when I know most children are likely to be listening”, he told Showbiz last Tuesday.
