The New Pastors and the Art of BLEACHING | Bishop Obinim as a Case Study

For many years, religion led by Christianity has been the only main game in town—and this goes as back into the Paleolithetic era.

Today, Science has become a key game player having demonstrated its substantial credibility, tackling some of the fundamental mysteries surrounding our existence, well being and universe—or multiverse if you are a String Theory proponent.

It’s difficult to reconcile religion and science at all levels; as one dwells on faith, the other is deep rooted in evidence—two sharply opposing but essential principles.

However, both science and religion have connecting tails and for the purpose of this piece, let me point out that the two condemn SKIN BLEACHING, either directly or indirectly and I don’t think we even need any of the two as humans to be able to position this self-hating act, considering its consequence.

Yet many of our Pastors, Bishops and Evangelists on TVs today, propagating the gospel (let’s say cashing in on the name Jesus Christ made possible by the credulity of many) have become bleaching ambassadors—and it’s as if some of them have shares in TURA.

Interestingly, it would be literally impossible to point out any leading scientist who has bleached his or her inner butt, like these charlatans called men of God have done. Here again, science seems to be winning as it’s being led by unadulterated people.

The church has not just become a place where all sorts of vices are entrenched, the leaders have no shame—and God does not also strike them.

Someone just sent me a video of a certain Ghanaian man of God called Bishop Obinim and his thousands of credulous congregants singing praises under his feet—and though I can forgive him for his spiritual hogwash miracles, I find not just his teachings but also his bleaching ‘offensively ignorant’.

And yet, he is leading thousands of people into the kingdom of God; so they think. Perhaps, he will drop them all off at the Kingdom of bleaching where people become ‘yellow pawpaw’ over night, aided by his version of the Holy Ghost—new name, Holy Spirit.

We wouldn’t let any drunk drive us home yet we seem to let people like Bishop Obinim lead us; and where exactly will they take us?

For many including the bleaching pastors; God does not care about what soap or cream you use—and that what matters most is the purity of your heart. That may be true if you are a Buddhist but for a Christian God portrayed to even care about the value of the currency you bring to His house, he definitely cares about what you are doing to your body—after all, that is His temple and He wouldn’t want to dwell in yellow temple with many dark spots around the edges and the anus, He sees it all…

For sanity sake; can’t any of the many congregants tell these bleaching pastors that tempering with God’s perfection is a sin and self-hate closes the doors to heaven?

Surely, today’s men of God must look great to be able to have the shallow pull factor but bleaching hurts not just their intent but also their credibility and that of their God!

If your pastor bleaches; just shout AMEN!

  1. Chris, it’s me again. “So what?” is my response to your blog. You don’t know whether he in fact bleached or was born light-skinned and yet he is your case study? Even if he has bleached, how does that make or break you? Maybe I should use you as a case study to investigate why you are so against God and Christians. Come on, Chris.

  2. I think we should allow God to judge this man. Too much insults and accusations. He’s human and born to sin. Am sure his bleaching attracted his wife Florence to accept his proposal.
