Ghana Ranks 124th ‘Happiest’ Country In The World In Latest World Happiness Report

The fourth World Happiness report, a study conducted by the UN’s Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), have found Ghana as the 124th most happiest country worldwide.
The study was conducted by analysing data collected in an extensive poll conducted worldwide by Gallup, which asked 1,000 people in each country to evaluate their happiness, on a scale of one to ten- where one is least happy and ten is most happy.
Not surprisingly, the happiest nations where the largely irreligious and socialist Nordic states. Denmark finished first, followed by Switzerland, Iceland, Norway and Finland.
The top ten is rounded out by Canada, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Australia and Sweden.
On the other end of the spectrum is Burundi. Syria home of ISIS, finish second from bottom. Togo, Afghanistan and Benin make up the bottom five.
For other world powers, the USA finished 13th overall. UK was 23rd, Germany 16th and China 83rd.
Overall, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean and Europe were the happiest regions, whilst South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa were the least happy.
The survey found six categories affected a nation’s ranking, its Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, social support, healthy-life expectancy, personal freedom, charitable giving and perceived corruption. The survey also found a veritable link between the level of inequality in a country with its level of happiness.
