The Black Stars of Ghana would be in action Thursday when they take on the Mambas of Mozambique in a qualifying game for the 2017 African Cup of Nations.
The game would kick off at 15:30 GMT at the Ohene Djan Sports Stadium in Accra.
Ghana suffered a huge blow in the run-up to the game, after skipper Asamoah Gyan picked up a knock that rules him out of both qualifying games.
With vice skipper Ayew also missing out of the squad, Grant still has a core of talented players to pick up the load. Goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey returns to the team after a sabbatical, and just might grab the number spot out of the hands of Razak Braimah.
Injuries notwithstanding, coach Avram Grant and his team have been relelntlessly preparing the team for the double header, fixtures which could see Ghana seal qualification with two wins, and with some favourable results in the other group games.
Ghana leads qualifying Group H for the 2017 African Cup of Nations with six points, with two wins out of two so far. After that are Rwanda and Mauritius on three, and Mozambique with zero. The other two also play a double header qualification game.
Ghana would take on Mozambique in the second leg of this game on March 27. The first leg, at the Ohene Sports Stadium, kicks off at 15:30 GMT today.
