The Bureau of National Investigations are in the news again after two close aides of the NPP flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, were detained Tuesday evening.
The pair, Kwadwo Kyeremeh and Malik Neequaye,  bodyguard and personal photographer for Nana, were detained by the Bureau late Tuesday for reportedly not filling out a ‘personality profile’ form at the Bureau, despite being asked to.
The pair were at the BNI offices in the capital with Captain Edmund Koda, to serve as witnesses in his prior case with the Bureau. Captain Koda, head of security for the flagbearer, was part of the case of three South African cops who were deported a while back.
Accompanying Koda to the BNI to retrieve some confiscated items of his, the two faced their own detainment, after failing to sign the forms. They said that was on the instructions of their lawyers, but the Bureau refused to let them go if they refused to sign.
The NPP issued a statement acknowledging their detention and condemning the act of their being held without charge. They were later released deep into the night.
