In It All….I Hope We’ve Learnt Something From Emelia Brobbey’s Shoplifiting Issue

Emelia Brobbey
Emelia Brobbey

I have received several phone calls from people close to Emelia Brobbey over her unfortunate shoplifting scandal which took place at a Pearsons Shop in Enfield, UK.

GhanaCelebrities.Com has no malice behind the breaking of the story but there was no way we would have swept such a shameful act under the carpet—-I told the many friends and family who called me to find out why we reported it and what we can do to help with the situation…

The most ridiculous offer I’ve received so far is a certain gentleman (name withheld) offering me ‘something’ so that I will come out and help Emelia Brobbey by saying, the story is false and that it was not Emelia Brobbey who shoplifted….

Though I was shocked, I managed to ask him; and what happens to the reputation of my blog? Why should I say it is false when it is true? After all, no one pushed her to go out there and steal a common bracelet at the expense of all she has worked for in life.

It seems people are more worried about the embarrassment Emelia Brobbey has willingly brought upon her self compared to the unpleasant situation she has placed Gloria Agyemang and Eunice Akua Adjeiwaa who is still in a UK Border Agency Detention Center.

In it all, I hope we’ve learnt something—-life is not a race.

When you live on a 6th gear, you will eventually crash. Do not be pressured into living a life you cannot afford or a life you wouldn’t want people knowing about. It is your life so learn to live in on your own terms and not under the pressure of society or colleagues.

No one at GhanaCelebrities.Com holds malice towards Emelia Brobbey but the truth must be said—-shoplifting is a crime and if a celebrity is caught doing it, we will report it as such. I do not think there is any justification (be it legal or moral) for her conduct.

As celebrity (role model) and a former teacher, Emelia Brobbey has a lot of young people looking up to her. And if for nothing at all, this is enough reason for us to expose her misdemeanour in the UK.

Just read what a former student of Emelia Brobbey wrote below…

Emelia Brobbey Steals In London

It is my prayer that next time; these people will decide to use their brains instead of their greed before engaging in such act.

        • @Oheneba Miyagi, I know someone is feeding Chris with false story… It is true that they find bracelet
In Emelia baby buggy which I know by fact but the so call friend Gloria who said she wasn’t wif her at the time
Of the incident is lying cos she was there wen the whole incident happened and she was actually the one who mistakenly
Put the bracelet at Emilia baby buggy saying she forgot to put it back were it belong…

My point is Emilia did shop almost 300pnds of cloths n the bracelet was just 10pnds… Lets think…why will
Someone  shop for abou 300pnds n steal 10pnds of bracelet please let’s get the story right n Chris
Should contact Emilia for her side of her story cos I have met Emilia several times in shop with that gal call
Gloria n u can clearly tell that Emilia is the one paying for their stuff n Gloria follow her like a maid
          …

          • Thank you for your part of the story, I believe everything you just wrote in your comment cause whole story did not add up at all its up to Emilia to tell her part of the story, and clear her name and hope her name will be cleared and that GC will issue an apology letter to her@Ticia,

          • @Ticia, Eye Asem This is GC version “But this is what happened that probably you do not know… Emelia went into the shop, stole the bracelet and went home…. She was seen on CCTV and her photos were printed out…She came back to the samwe shop few days later, thinking she has probably got away with it and she was identified and apprehended…

Her address was taken and the address together with the video evidence was given to the police which brought about the police visit/raid 2 days later…”

            Emilia version ”
She said she explained to the security and even paid for it when the shop attendant asked if she wanted to keep the bracelet. She hinted that she was pursued a couple of days later by the London police after she had given her address because she was perceived to be in the country illegally. The actress recalled that the police only checked her passport and visa. The popular actress stressed, contrary to earlier speculations that, she was arrested”

Ticia it seems like what you wrote the other day matches Emilia’s version and what baffles me is that if she agreed to paid for it and she claimed the security guard made a comment about Ghanaians always overstaying And never want to go back is kinda strange to me for a security guard to make such a comment and than few days later she got police at her place

The question now is was the security guard a black security guard did he he know one of those girls or was it a plan to bring Emilia down and things went wrong and if she agreed to pay for it why did it become a police matter all he had to do is make a report and file it

          • @Ticia, Wow this is the truth, and i believe there are camera’s all over the shop so Gloria’s part will show too at least we will know who the real thief is.

          • @Jeanie, I got a feeling who the real thief is but will surely wait for the truth to come out

      • @James, FROM THE WAY YOU CONDEMN EMELIA AND OTHERS ON THIS ARTICLE SHOW’S YOU ALSO AN ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT STRUGGLING TO MAKE IT IN LIFE. PLEASE IS NOT HER FAULT HER ILLEGAL FRIEND IS BEING DEPORTED, WELL SOME OF US THAT HAD IT EASY FEELS IS BEST YOU STAY YOUR BUTT IN YOUR COUNTRY THAN GOING THROUGH THIS IMMIGRATION SAGA. SORRYOOO ILLEGAL MAN, EMELIA DIDN’T CAUSE NONE, NATURE HAS NEVER BEEN DECEPTIVE.. THE GIRL’S FAMILY WITCHCRAFT WOULD HAVE A HAND IN THIS WHOLE ISSUE. PEACE AND NEXT TIME ADVICE YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS NOT TO OVERSTAY WHENEVER THEY VISIT LMAO

  4. well done chris, despite all odds,i love my country to the max but truth must be said,at this point i really dont care if the story is true or not but for the fact that a Ghanaian and a celebrity for that matter who is surpose to portray the good name of GHANA should be messed up with a shameful act such as this. Its things like this that has given us bad name as africans and we must not entertain it,we will expose you when we must, its the only way to tell the rest of the world that not all of us are like that.

  5. What I picked frm dis article is dat Gloria Agyeman gave u all the info…she’s obviously bitter fr d trouble n mess Emelia has “supposedly” dragged her into. People r condemning Emelia for causing d deportation of d other actress, Eunice, but if only we could look beyond dat n deal with d actual problem of people over staying their visits to the UK n other European countries…why cnt we do things the right way? u get a six months visa to a foreign country…why don’t u just visit n come back? people want to live abroad at all cost n it really beats me as to why this is so. All these factors have contributed to Ghana being declared a high risk country. Anyway, I’m still in doubt about this whole story, I’m sure there is an explanation somewhere fr all this mess and Emelia shd come out n clear d air!

    • @Pershia, WELL SAID WELL SAID WELL SAID INFACT LOL COMPARING THIS COMMENT TO YOUR PREVIOUS POST MADE MY DAY. YOU ARE TOO WISE.. THEY ARE GIVEN A STAY OF 6 MONTHS AND WONDER WHY A SENSIBLE HUMAN BEING WOULD CROSS THE LINE OF OVERSTAYING WITHOUT ANY FORMS OF RESPECT TO THE COUNTRY LAW. SOMETIMES THEY ARE GIVEN MULTIPLE VISA’S OF 5YEARS AND SOME IDIOT’S WOULD END UP OVERSTAYING AND HUSTLING WITHOUT ANY MEANS OF SURVIVING. ONLY THE HUSTLERS WILL ACCUSE EMELIA IN THIS, PEOPLE LIKE US WHO RESPECT THE LAW WILL BLAME HER FRIEND FOR HER ST.UPID DOWNFALL.

    • @Pershia, I totally agree with u, but Gloria might not be the one who’s giving Chris the info cs all her phones has been disconnected, including home phone too.

  9. Nothing hurts so much than people judging others for their actions when they probably have no idea the reason behind it.Emelia is not a bad person and no human is beyond mistake.Even if she took the bracelet which I believe she probably didnt do it on purpose, we need to give her a chance to explain herself and if she is wrong,it’s only God who is in the right position to judge her.Emelia,if u ever visit this site and read this,I will urge u to keep ur head up because everything has an end.U will be fine and use this as a testimony someday. Some of us still love U.

    • Adjoa, what do you mean by she did not take it on purpose? For anyone to be charged/fined for stealing; the law requires that the person must have dishonestly appropriated a property belonging to another person with the intention of permanently depriving the owner of it…

And this is exactly what Emelia Brobbey did…

I hate to go deep into this else I can easily acquire the police report even and publish it online. But that is not my intention…My intention is to let people know this has happened…If pushed, we may consider doing that…

But this is what happened that probably you do not know… Emelia went into the shop, stole the bracelet and went home…. She was seen on CCTV and her photos were printed out…She came back to the samwe shop few days later, thinking she has probably got away with it and she was identified and apprehended…

Her address was taken and the address together with the video evidence was given to the police which brought about the police visit/raid 2 days later…

No body is judging her, but everyone has the right to condemn her for what she has done…Comments like yours seem to suggest that stealing which is a criminal offence is not a big deal. I have had my stuff stolen before in life and I know how it feels.

I do not support people overstaying in any country but if I give a friend that I am staying with’s address out, I will tell the person this and that happened and they asked for my address which I yours since I am staying here…

      Anyway, hope you are good!

      • @Posted By: Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri, My comments doesn’t suggest stealing is not a big deal,it sure is, but then again condemning someone for almost a week turns into judging them.At this point,u think Emelia hasn’t gotten enough yet?Do u tealise She is a nursing mother and this can also have effects on her baby? Are we waiting for her to commit suicide before we forgive her or give her a chance to explain things? Its so unfortunate She had to learn a lesson this hard way.

        • @Adjoa Nbaaso), well said. U cudnt have said it better. Chris thinks you mean stealing is ok. Nah it is not, what we saying is that you have crucified her enough. .we get the drift? Let it go chris. Four articles less dan a week..

      • @Posted By: Chris-Vincent Agyapong Febiri,  Hey Chris, please shut your big mouth up. You damn know  well what u are saying is not true. If you have been paid to destroy this poor girl please be careful. This is what happened, Emelia went to this shop intending to buy a bracelet and in the process tried a few on and i guess she forgot she had left one on her wrist. when later she left the shop without buying any. She got home and later realized she had the bracelet on but was scared to take it back and this led her going back to the shop intending to give it back . Upon getting there, the sales people pounced on her that she came there the last time to steal the bracelet. Instead of listening to her they rather called the police on her and she was cautioned. This could happen to anybody, so people stop throwing stones.

        • @Esiba, You make sense, this could happen to anybody. I remember i bought Gas for my car, forgot to pay for it. i drove off and realise later that i styll have the money in my wallet. I drove soo fat to the same gas station to pay for my Gas. This is something can that happen to anybody. But she should’ve bring it back or go there the sameday to pay it off. I guess her waiting till next day made them assume she back to steal more.but its just unfortunate act that happen. people please let it go and leave this girl alone. am sure she sufer enough with all ur alligation

  10. Only hypocrites and hustlers are the ones accusing Emelia here. well, only a fool would overstay and suffer in another man’s land. Is even a sin to do that didn’t the holy bible talked about this on I Peter 2:13 “Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme. So what the fukk happened to the fear she had for God? She caused her own pit, if she had obeyed the country’s law her as.s wouldn’t had been in this mess. And you think disobeying God would give you mercy or favor in sight like this? heck no bunch of dummies who never read their bibles and yet likes to put the blame on others. Ghanaians is about high freaking time we contribute to our nation, if she had returned after earning few dollars and invested in some sort of business her case wouldn’t have been this bad. I DO NOT EXCHANGE WORDS WITH DUMMIES AND HUSTLERS. ANYONE WHO DISAGREE ON THIS CAN LICK MY TROMOO CHOCOLATE MILK

But not to judge her, I will respect her for teaching me. After all we make mistakes everyday but just that hers is being publicized. Wish her the best and God’s strength.
