The launch of this year’s edition of Big Brother Africa, a reality show, was slated for September 7, 2014. However, a very shocking incident that has occurred today has made organisers of the reality TV show suspend the launch of the program.

In a release issued by Endemol SA and M-Net today gave reasons for the suspension. According to the organisers, the building in which the reality show is supposed to be filmed in has caught fire. This will not allow the launch and production to take place as previously scheduled.

At this stage, the cause of the fire outbreak is not yet known but investigation will soon begin in order to ascertain what brought about the outbreak.

Currently, Endemol SA and M-Net, producers of BBA, is looking for a replacement where they can film the reality show which a cross-section of Africans are on the lookout.

In the same press release, they made it known that an alternative is not readily available because BBA production requires highly technical set-ups but measures will be put in place to find a solution to it as soon as possible.
