Ghana’s dancehall king Shatta Wale has been legally barred from making any more of the videos that he posted on his facebook page raining insults on Charter House.

The Accra Fast Track High Court hearing the case upheld Charter House request for an interlocutory injunction to be placed on the brash singer from releasing anymore of the videos whilst the substantive case of defamation goes on.

This therefore means that, Shatta Wale cannot record any video expressly or impliedly taking the piss out of  Charter House, the CEOs or even their associates…

The event management firm took Shatta to court over a series of videos he released in which he attacked the company, it’s CEO Mr. Iyiola Ayoade, and Gh One Television amongst others.

They are seeking the videos to be declared as defamatory, and for damages to the tune of 10 million cedis.

As we all know Shatta Wale and Charterhouse have a really volatile history, and many people, myself included, believe he rode to fame on the back of his tirades against them which went viral and established him in the Ghana music scene after many years in obscurity under his earlier moniker ‘Bandana’.

He has repeated them on an almost yearly basis since, but this time it seems he went a step too far and Charterhouse are biting back, hard!

The substantive hearing is set to continue on the 3rd of November and we all wait with bated breath to see the fate of ‘Bandana from Ghana’.
