An unfortunate quarrel over money between brothers turned sour when one turned on the other and shot him to death.
All over the paltry sum of Ghc 110!
The incident occurred in the town of Kotokrom, in the Sunyani municipality of the Brong Ahafo Region. Kofi, the deceased, was 21. His brother, suspected of having carried out the killing, is 23 year old Kwadwo.
The Ghana News Agency reports that the incident occurred last weekend, when Kofi, a handyman and breadwinner of his family, won a contract to carry out a masonry job.
After completing the work, he was asked to go and come back later for the money. But Kwadwo took advantage of that and went for the money himself. When Kofi discovered the switch, he went to confront his brother over his actions (especially since the money would be used to cater for the family)
During the confrontation, Kwadwo reportedly took a gun and shot his brother in the neck. He then fled the scene, and is currently on the run.
Kofi unfortunately did not make it, and police have mounted a search for his murderous brother.
