The musical portion of the inaugural ‘Diaspora Calling’ festival, organised to celebrate music and art from Africans and Africans throughout the Diaspora, comes off Friday night at the King’s Theatre in Brooklyn, New York.
Ghanaian acts Stonebwoy Burnington, Elorm Adabla (EL) and Jojo Abot would be on hand to perform at the star studded festival, which would be hosted and headlined by the Grammy Award winning Luryn Hill.
The festival commenced April 13, with the art and other portions. Hill hosted a reception for art from contemporary artists, with a special focus on Haiti.
Hill’s Friday concert would be the musical portion of the festival, and aside the three Ghanaians would also feature Machel Montano (Trinidad), Stephen “Ragga” Marley (Jamaica), Mr. Eazi (Nigeria), Wondaboy (Nigeria) and Paul Beaubrun (Haiti). The concert would be streamed on Tidal.
