Okyeame Kwame has finally broken the silence on the reason behind his longtime split from the former musical duo Akyeame and it is nothing close to what we thought of.
Akyeame was a musical duo made up of Okyeame Kwame and Okyeame Quophi back in the 90’s— these two took hip life music to a whole different dimension though it was short lived.
Fans have beaten themselves to know the reasons behind the split and Okyeame Kwame in an interview on Beta Malt “On the Go” (taxi edition) detailed the reason out.
He said:
“I was broke. We started music in 97; Kofi and I. We did music for a while and went to live in America…When we came back in 2003, we were broke. Whenever I told kofi, let’s go for a performance, Kofi said no, people will take us for cheap, let’s wait to build our artistry…”
