Gospel musician Gifty Osei claims the video she uploaded a few months ago of her speaking twi in some incredible foreign accent was actually a big joke, something she was doing to pass away the time.
According to her, she likes to have fun, and was just doing the accent for fun.
Speaking on Accra Fm Friday, Gifty tackled the series of videos that left fans wondering what the hell was wrong with her?
“As a human, you should make yourself happy from time to time. You know, the perception about gospel artistes is that we are snobbish, that we do not socialise and all, so that day I was just having fun,” she explained.
Osei added that the criticism she received has only made her stronger as she took it in her stride.
“If you are new to the industry and do not understand how things work, you would think people hate you. … I like criticism. Hearing I have done something improper chastens me,” she added, speaking on Accra FM’s mid-morning show, Ayekoo Ayekoo.
“… It makes me realise that people are observing me, so I take the good criticisms to perfect my life.”
