Former President John Dramani Mahama met the top brass of his party on Thursday in a much needed strategy meeting.
The NDC badly lost the 2016 elections, losing the Presidency by over a million votes and turning their solid Parliamentary majority into a solid minority – so they really need to consider the way forward to make themselves viable once again.
The President thus met the party’s parliamentary caucus, including second deputy speaker Alban Bagbin, minority leader Haruna Iddrisu, as well as newly elected Mp’s such as Alfred Oko Vanderpuye and Zanetor Agyemang Rawlings. Party leader Johnson Asiedu Nketia was also in attendance.
The former President, who is not expected to contest in 2020 despite pressure from his party, posted about the meeting on social media.
He wrote:
Spent my Thursday afternoon with the NDC Caucus in Parliament. Great atmosphere, frank discussions and networking.
