Yesterday, Ghana’s incompetent Fire Service struggled to keep a fire outbreak at the premises of Cocoa Groove Regency Hotel under control which destroyed other properties running into thousands of Cedis..

Against previous media reports that suggested Dr. Nduom’s  Hotel was ablaze, a statement by the Corporate Affairs of Groupe Nduom said “Regency Hotel and its restaurant, guest rooms and conference facilities are intact and were not touched by the fire.”

The statement as reported by adomonline.com further stated that “It has become apparent after about an hour and a half that the Fire Service personnel have not been able to contain the fire at the studio, he said adding by that time the fire has spread to other offices on the same block as the ATV studio.”

However, with the forethought that it was the the Hotel that was razed down by the disaster, Ex-President John Mahama has commiserated Dr. Nduom for his lost.

The fire is believed to have been caused by an air condition in one of the buildings on the Hotel’s premises which houses Amansan Television Station (ATV) and severely crippled to GN bank’s corporate office which lies close to it.
