The final three man shortlist for the UEFA Player of the Year award has been released by the body.
Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are joined on the list by Juventus goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon.
The UEFA Player of the year is handed out by the European governing body every year to honour the best player in the previous European season.
Both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gigi Buffon’s Real Madrid and Juventus made the UEFA Champions league final, whilst Lionel Messi led Barcelona to the quarter finals before falling to Juventus.
Real Madrid won the trophy by 4-1 in May’s final in Cardiff, and Ronaldo is largely the favourite to take home the award.
