For students in Junior High School it’s the day they look forward to most their entire lives, the day they have been preparing for since starting primary school.
However for one student of this year’s exams, he lost his life just on the d-day he has been waiting for.
According to mynewsgh, a student from Ashaiman who was scheduled to write the BECE failed to turn up on Monday. It was later established that it was because he had passed away.
In the Ashaiman Municipality at large, 17 out of 3,664 candidates for the BECE failed to turn up to write their papers, although it has yet to be established what led to the absences of the other 16.
The 2018 Basic Education Certificate Examination commenced on Monday, June 4th and is scheduled to run through June 8th.
