A Japanese man has been making waves after news emerged that he has been dating a cockroach for a year.
25-year-old Yuma Shinohara acquired an African farm reared cockroach who he named Lisa and started dating. According to him ‘Lisa’ was his first love and he fantasized about having s*x with her — either by becoming a cockroach himself or Lisa becoming a human woman.
He said Lisa was the hottest woman he ever met and their relationship was serious and exclusive.
However, after a year his ‘girlfriend’ died and Yuma cooked and ate her. He said he did it in ‘reverence’.
“The day she passed away was difficult but I knew it had to come since she was a cockroach with a short life span.
“So now Lisa lives in my heart and continues living as part of my body.” he said.
Yuma is an entomophagist – a person who preaches and practices eating insects as an alternative to meat due to environmental reasons. He is known in Japan for organizing bug-eating contests.
