Popular Nigerian singer Adedeji Adeleke David, popularly known as Davido has paid a touching tribute to his late mother on the occasion of Mothers’ day.
The singer’s late mum, Veronica Imade Adeleke passed away in 2003 on her husband’s (Davido’s father) 40th birthday. The singer who was so fond of his mom named his first daughter after her.
Until her death, Davido’s mother was a lecturer at the Babcock University in Osun State. She died on 6th March 2003 after a short illness.
Sharing a photo of his late mom, the singer wrote, ” Happy Mother’s day MAMA ❤️❤️ Keep resting in Perfect peace ! We Dey worry dem down here 🌎!!🔥🔥🔥Wish u were here ❤️❤️”
Davido’s mother loved music, just like her son. In the 90s, she had a brilliant music career and was the owner of a record label. She was also part of a band named “David’s Band.” This was not the only thing she named after her son. She also had a security company, which was called “David’s security”. Her son was really the apple of her eye.
