Actor Jim Iyke has received a chieftaincy title in Accra, Ghana.
Her Royal Highness, the Eze Ndigbo Ghana, Dr. Chukwudi Ihenetu conferred the title ‘Ohadike 1 of Ndigbo” on the actor.
The coronation took place during the 10th yam festival.
According to HRH Ihenetu, I Iykr’s contribution to the entertainment industry coupled with his tremendous achievements in Africa earned him the chieftaincy title.
The actor has over two decades of experience in the entertainment industry under his belt. Since he started his career in 2001, Jim Iyke has grown to become an icon. Nollywood.
The same event also saw gospel musician Empress Gifty installed as chief in the Igbo community in Ghana.
The King conferred on the musician the stool name Chief Ugonma Empress Gifty.
Follow g the coronation, Empress Gifty pledged her commitment to work for the growth of the African continent while expressing gratitude to the King and the people of the Igbo Community in Ghana.
She wrote on her IG;
“I am more than thrilled to be part of history as the Igbo Community in Ghana marks its 10th anniversary on the throne today. This honor by extension would deepen the cultural and economic ties between Ghana and Nigeria. For this reason, I would avail myself for this cause, because we stand to gain a lot by working together as Africans,” she acknowledged.
