NPP Ashanti regional chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has warned Kennedy Agyapong to desist from threatening him.
According to Wontumi, if he hears another threat from the Assin Central MP directed towards him, he would have the lawmaker arrested.
Wontumi sent out his warning following recent bombastic statements from Agyapong, who is running to be elected as the next flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Agyapong is going toe-to-toe with Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who is being supported by Wontumi.
Agyapong has made the race a brutal battle from the start when during the first round, he claimed he was being cheated and promised the President and the entire party a ‘showdown’.
He has since passed other comments directed at Wontumi – a staunch Bawumia surrogate – that the NPP Ashanti Regional Chairman did not like.
In a recent statement, Wontumi said he would not tolerate any more threats and that if he hears another threat from Kennedy Agyapong he would have him arrested.
He added that he would not keep quiet and let Agyapong let him get assassinated like he did to the Tiger Eye journalist Ahmed Suale.
