Celestine Donkor Apologizes To Voltarians Over Expensive Joke About Their “Heavy” Surnames, Says She Is Proud To Be An Ewe

Award Winning Gospel Musician, Celestine Donkor has rendered an unqualified apology to Voltarians over her recent comments about their surnames.

Celestine Donkor was a guest on Today’s Woman hosted by Cookie Tee. During their interactions, Celestine realized that Cookie was also from the Volta Region.

This make Cookie quiz Celestine why she had the surname Donkor which isn’t an ewe name. Celestine responded by saying Donkor was her husband’s name.

” I am a pure ewe. My parents are both ewes and I speak it fluently as well. But one thing about ewes is our heavy surnames. I was always looking for an ewe man with cute name not a heavy name. I’ve carried a heavy surname all my life so it was nice to have a simple name to pronounce. My name before marriage was Celestine Akakpo Dossou.” She stated.

Well, her statement sparked a lot of outrage with several Voltarians bashing her and Cookie Tee for mocking them.

Reacting to this, she took to her social media platform to apologize to her fellow Voltarians for upsetting them with her comments.

According to Celestine, the comments she made was a joke and should be taken as such.

” *MEDEKUKU. ACCEPT MY APOLOGY. I AM SORRY.*

Dear Brothers, Sisters, Friends, and Family,

Kindly accept my sincerest apology in this short video. I was wrong. I am sorry. I will strive to do my best as a proud Ewe woman, a proud Ghanaian, and a committed vessel for God’s use. May Almighty GOD, MAWU YEHOWA, bless and keep us all. AKPE”. She wrote on all her social media platforms.
