The Bold Woman in the Viral Baton Rouge Protest Photo is A Nurse and Mother

The above photo may mean different things to different people but undeniably, it captures a “feeble” woman standing up against a powerful state apparatus, the police.
And the woman in the photo who was among more than a hundred people arrested while protesting police brutality in Baton Rouge on Saturday is reportedly a nurse and a mother.
She has been identified by friends and arrest records as Ieshia L. Evans, 35, a nurse and mother to a young boy.
The captivating photo was captured by freelance photographer Jonathan Bachman, who described the woman’s powerful “stand” against heavily armored officers to the Atlantic.
Bachman told the Atlantic; “It happened quickly, but I could tell that she wasn’t going to move, and it seemed like she was making her stand.”
