Sensational reports in the local press have claimed that the committee set up to appoint Ghana’s next coach have settled on Appiah, who led the Stars to qualification to the 2014 Fifa World Cup.

Communications director of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Sani Dara, has debunked rumours circulating online claiming that head coach of the Black Stars, Avram Grant, has died.

Social media reports Tuesday night claimed the Israeli had died after suffering a heart attack, but Sani Dara debunked those claims in a press briefing held earlier today.

I don’t know why but we seem to have a huge aversion to the truth in this country. Especially when it comes to something concerning ourselves, in which case no matter how bad it is, you have to hold your tongue because it would be ‘unpatriotic’ to speak out.

The former BBC journalist, who you would think would know of the intricacies of the communication process-  has rather become the FA’s pitbull, sent out to attack anyone at the slightest hint of disagreement with the body.
