If there ever was one video that could encapsulate the sentiment that ‘change is the only constant in life’ – this would be it.
Nana Akufo-Addo beat incumbent John Dramani Mahama in elections last year to ascend to his office and take over, after John Mahama also beat him in 2012 – but their paths have been crossing long before that.
In 2001, newly elected President John Agyekum Kuffour nominated Akyem Abuakwa South MP Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to the position of Attorney General and Minister of Justice. As is the norm, the minister designate had to undergo vetting by Parliament, during which Akufo-Addo was questioned by one John Dramani Mahama, the Member of Parliament for Bole Bamboi.
It’s an exchange that is more poignant in light of recent events, their reversal of statuses and exchanges such as the one over allocation of a retirement home for the former leader.
