This is surely not about demonic—rather, about how civilised the two countries are and the fact that religious dogmatism is the fountainhead of most Ghanaian churches including the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.
Following reports that the Presbyterian Church of US has accepted Gay marriage, Ghana’s branch of the same-Presbyterian Church has decided to cut ties, calling the acceptance of homosexuality by some churches as demonic influence.
“They have deviated from biblical principles,” the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Professor Emmanuel Martey told Joy News Thursday.
According to Rev Professor Emmanuel Martey, the US Presbyterian church is not a “bible-believing church” and Ghana will have no part in accepting a demonic practice. “It is only the church…the true church that Satan is afraid of. Satan is not afraid of United States army or any other army. It is only the church…the church of Christ,” he told Joy News.
He added that his heart bleeds for any church that accepts homosexuality.
This is the sort of leaders we have in Ghana which has stagnated our development and progress. While others have moved on and found the need to accept people’s sexual orientation, we sit back home in Africa to condemn their actions while perpetuating bigotry.
Ghanaians have become more catholic than the people of Rome—I guess. The white man who brought Christianity and his Bible to us is accepting these things yet we say it’s wrong. Pretty funny!

Someone should tell this gray haired oaf that everything he pretends to represent was created by the white church he’s trying to sever ties with. He should stop calling himself a Presbyterian and call himself ‘anokyerian’ if he truly wants to cut ties. And start worshipping the mountains of eastern region. This is typical Ghanaian nonsense. Trying to be more catholic than the pope. If Jesus Christ comes back to earth, Ghanaians will not recognise him. It’s likely he’ll be insulted and cursed by Ghanaians because of his teachings.
Oh say it & say it again. See how the poor man is sweating under the black gown & bibs his white masters taught him to wear & yet he’s claiming to cut ties with who? Who needs whom more? The Ghanaian & African churches are the ones who are always praying for donations from Western churches & praying for invitations to visit those congregations so that they can use it to get visa. There’s stinking rubbish on our streets, we don’t have electricity, we don’t have lights but all we’re obsessed with is ‘gays’. We claim that if we allow gays to be, we will become Sodom & yet we queue for hours in the sun for visa to these same ‘Sodom’ countries which have respected gays for years & are prospering. Mehn, Africa is stuck in the dark ages
