The old adage that a bird cries differently when it is caught in a cage as compared to when it is let free is indeed true.
A few weeks ago when Kwaw Kese’s weed case was still in court, the mention of weed by a twitter user to him got him to say; ‘Massa, I beg’—indicating that, he does not even want to talk about that substance, let alone go near one.
After court tampered Justice with Mercy and sentenced him to just a day in prison with a little amount of fine-1200 GHS for his weed smoking conviction, dude is back online advocating for weed to be legalised—backing his campaign with a shocking 80% figure.
According to Kwaw Kese, 80% of Ghanaians smoke weed—and legalising the substance will give those people who have made that choice the freedom to enjoy the substance which sits on Ghana’s statute book as illegal.
Where did Kwaw Kese get this 80% statistics from? A lot of Ghanaians smoke weed like that?
Kwaw also added that ” Why should a person be jailed for smoking when it’s their choice??? After all cigarettes are poisonous and harmful but it’s for sale!!!”
For the 80% illegal weed smokers, we dedicate the below song to you…
