The President, John Dramani Mahama, has reportedly sent a cheque of Ghc 5,000 through his ‘Celebrities for Mahama’ project.
Wayoosi, the Kumawood actor born Joseph Nana Osei Kofi, recently took ill, with his condition becoming so critical there were even reports circulating of his death.
Currently on admission at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, the coordinator for the project, Mr Beautiful, revealed the donation made to the actor to help in his expenses.
“It’s true the president has made a donation to Wayoosi. He will go and pay him a visit next week. He did so through the Tourism Ministry,” the actor said.
The ‘celebrities for Mahama’ project was an initiative introduced by the President that involved looking after celebrities in difficulties, especially veterans who have fallen on hard times.
