The world is celebrating International Women’s Day to appreciate and acknowledge women for their efforts and contributions to society but it is a rather an adverse situation in Ghana as two girls allegedly have committed suicide today.

GhanaCelebrities.com reported earlier how a University Of Ghana student allegedly jumped from her fourth-floor room’s balcony purported as suicide. Adding to the number today, CitiFm has also reported another suicide case of a 16-year-old girl in New Tafo of the Eastern Region.
The JHS pupil who was in the Child of Hope Preparatory School was found hanging in her home’s kitchen after she went missing for some hours.
Nana Kwasi, a neighbour of the deceased who spoke to Citi News, said “she [the deceased] lives with her mother and two younger sisters. The mother said she was looking for her ward to help her cook for the family but she couldn’t be found. She sent the sister to go out and look for her but they didn’t find her.”
With no result of seeing the 16-year-old, the mother decided to proceed to her kitchen to do her cooking, only to meet the lifeless body of the daughter. The reason for the teenager’s suicide is not known yet but the case has been reported to the New Tafo Police Station for further investigation and her body deposited at the New Tafo Government Hospital for post-mortem.
