Jihad Chaabn, the Marwako supervisor alleged to have dipped the face of Evelyn Boakye, an employee, into pepper, is pleading with the court hearing the case to order for the case to be settled out of court.

Chaabn’s lawyer, at their latest court date Thursday, pleaded with the trial judge to throw the case out of court and let the parties work together on a settlement, something which is within the court’s power to do.

Prosecuting attorney Chief Inspector Hanson Armah kicked against the suggestion, arguing Chaabn is standing trial for a felony and thus the case should proceed.

The Lebanese-Ghanaian allegedly dipped the face of Evelyn Boakye in pepper after accusing her of trying to destroy a blender belonging to the restaurant.

Boakye lodged a complaint with the police who arrested Chaabn and charged him with assault.

Trial judge Victoria Ghansah has adjourned the case to April 10 to give a ruling on the application for an out of court settlement.
