The 2018 BET Awards came off Sunday night in Los Angeles and Kwesi Arthur’s big dream of a win was left unfufilled.
South African recording artist Sjava sailed ahead of the competition to win the newly instituted Viewers Choice Best New International Act award.
Arthur received a BET nomination recently for the first time in his burgeoning career and Ghanaians enthusiastically got behind his campaign to win the award.
Aside the public massively voting for him numerous other artists threw their weight behind him and tried to get their fans to support his bid.

In the end, however, it turned up not to be enough as Sjava won the award over Arthur — who nevertheless can remain proud with a nomination most artists in Ghana can only dream of.
