TWEETS: ‘Do Not Blame Stonebwoy And Shatta Wale Alone, VGMA Has A Lot To Put In Place’ — Actress Lydia Forson

On Charterhouse’s decision to ban Ghana’s two popular Dancehall artistes, Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale for what they did at the just ended 20th edition of VGMA, actress Lydia Forson has broken her silence.

According to Lydia in a series of Tweets on her page, started with a congratulating message to the VGMA organizers, Charterhouse for their efforts in raising the name of Ghana music industry high.

She wrote; “Dear Charterhouse, For 20 + years you’ve worked to entertain and help grow our industries. We appreciate you. But, what we’re NOT going to do is pretend you’re not equally complicit in what happened on Saturday. No no no”

Commenting on what contributed to the battle between Shatta Wale and his ‘cousin’, the celebrated actress wrote; “A lot of factors contributed to what happened on Saturday and it’s unfair to make it just about the two parties involved. A much bigger conversation needs to be had about, venues, security, emergency management, FANS etc.”

She added that “Let’s not pretend that the VGMA’s have always gone without incident. That’s a BIG FAT LIE. Maybe nothing on this scale, but almost every year since it’s inception, one thing or another has marred the event. And yes, changes have been made, but there’s more to be done.”

Speaking on Charterhouse punishment for Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy, she said it’s good they’ve been punished but they should consider the outcome of their punishment.

“I do stand with the board’s decision to penalize the artist involved, but this knee jerk penalization will ONLY create even more chaos, tension and division in the industry. This wasn’t well thought through.”
