“My Fellow Ghanaians” Trending On Twitter As President Akuffo Addo Addresses The Nation Tonight

Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana is known to speak impeccable English. Having spent a lot of his youthful years abroad, it is not so surprising to hear the man speak with an overseas accent. It will shock many to know that the President’s command over the French language is even more impeccable, having spent over 30 years of his life as a lawyer in France.

But what has caught on recently with most Ghanaians is his use of the phrase “my fellow Ghanaians” in his recent addresses to the nation. Perhaps, a common phrase that the first gentleman of the land might have been using in his previous addresses, it has gained popularity in recent times possibly due to the times we find ourselves in.

Expressing their expectations of the President’s address, many twitter users could not help but make reference to what has become synonymous with the leader of the country.

Though the details of the President’s address tonight remain unknown, many people have predicted the imposition of another lockdown considering how Ghana’s cases of the dreaded coronavirus continue to surge. Though that, for now, remains mere speculation, and other details remain uncertain, one thing remains absolutely clear, that the President will most certainly begin his address with the popular phrase “my fellow Ghanaians”.
