The Musician’s Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) organised Ghana Music Week Festival was an epic failure as less than two dozen people turned up for the occasion.

The Independence Square venue was a deserted place around 11pm, despite the event being slated for a 6pm start, GhanaWeb reported.

The dancehall scene in Ghana has grown exponentially in the past few years, with many jumping on the genre day after day and an eternal fight over who’s actually the ‘dancehall king’
Knii Lante, who gravitates towards the genre himself, has described what’s going on in Ghana as a totally different style of music from what actually happens in Jamaica. According to him, our dancehall just consists of people taking an azonto beat and dabbing it with some patois, much different from what actual dancehall is about.

The 2011 Ghana Music Award Winning Best Male Vocalist, and natural soul/reggae singer-songwriter-musician , Knii Lante, has released his second official video off his debut album ‘Love and Revolution’, entitled ‘When You Love Someone’.

The music video was shot at a residence in the Cantonments prime area of Accra and features the adventurous, Gerald, of the Adams Apples sequels as well as radio personality, Mandy Jay.

The music video was shot in HD by Accra based director Stanley Adjetey  of ‘Take 2 Films’.
