Apparently, the Ghanaian movie industry is dead and fingers are being pointed on Ghanaian Television stations for introducing foreign contents such as telenovelas in the country.
These contents have successfully diverted and stolen the love and passion Ghanaians had for their own movies. A Ghanaian wouldn’t mind watching telenovela the whole day without even thinking about the existence of Ghanaian movies.
The emergence of foreign soaps and telenovelas were said to be the cause of the collapse of the Ghana Movie industry especially the Kumawood Industry.
Oheneyere Mercy Asiedu says that is not the case. According to the Kumawood actress, the telenovelas have done less or close to nothing to master this cause.
For a time now, the new trend on TV Stations is to force foreign movies on its audience whilst the Ghanaian movie industry is begging for air to breath to survive leaving the likes of Moesha Boduong unemployed.
Anita Erskine, who rarely talks about movies has recently left some comments which make us think it’s a shot a Multi-Media House which is promoting its new foreign soap opera.
