The next President of the United States has yet to be decided despite the election being held on November 3rd.
Results have come out from numerous states all over the country and Donald Trump is surprisingly in the lead.
This is a huge shock as everyone thought Democratic candidate Joe Biden was going to win in a landslide, instead Tump has managed to retain a lead.
The President has managed to win almost all the states he won in 2016 and holds sizeable but not insurmountable leads in the key swing states of Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Carolina.
The Democrats hold hope of winning those states because there are millions of mail-in ballots yet to be counted.
Trump however, has come out to claim that as he’s leading, vote counting in those states should be stopped.
He claims the election is being ‘stolen’ from him even though he has won.
“We are up big, but they are trying to steal the election. We will never let them do it,” Trump said at a press conference.
At the moment, the Associated Press gives Biden 238 electoral votes and Trump 213 electoral votes. But Trump leads in more states yet to be counted than Biden.
The next President of the United States will be declared after one candidate hits 270 electoral votes.
We’ll provide more updates as the day goes by.
