Bradez
Bradez

The just ended Ghana Music Awards 2010 confirmed once again that the awards do not follow any logic; aside the controversy, the awards encountered some lapses in respect of security, which was poor, innocent fans who had flocked the venue to catch a glimpse of their favourite artistes also suffered in the hands of the bouncers brought in from Togo who hardly speak any English; for once they forgot they were dealing with human beings.

Regardless of all this low points, the show was a success and Sarkodie deservedly emerged as the Artiste of the Year. The awards in the Dome at the Accra International Conference Centre saw the dynamic duo Bradez, track ‘Simple’ being adjudged as the Most Popular Song of the Year.

Kwaw Kesse

The ‘mad’ man Kwaw Kesse (real name Emmanuel Botwe) who was the first to trash this year’s Ghana Music Awards nomination has thrown another jab at the organizer of the event, this time describing as a ‘Yawa’ (literally meaning Bogus) Awards.

Abodam said this during an exclusive interview on Peace FM’s Entertainment Review” programme, Kwaw who is currently on holidays in America told host of the programme Kwasi Aboagye from his Washington DC base that there was too much “Kuluulu” in the nomination this year.

He also explained why he tore the nomination list on the day of the launch at Gold Tulip Hotel in Accra on February 26. “When I went through the nomination I realized that No! This is not the Ghana Music Awards I know, because the whole thing seems like a big joke to me. There are several songs which made waves in the past year but they were not nominated, so I saw that there was some bias going on”, Kwaw stated.

Ghana Music Awards

Radio presenter from X-FM, actor and host for Stars of the Future, Miss Malaika and Rhythmz TV, Chris Attoh will host the 11th edition of the Ghana Music Awards alongside host of Joy FM’s Cosmopolitan Mix and Lunch Time Rhythms,  Doreen Andoh.

Artistes to perform on the night to give unforgettable experience to the audience are gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy, Abrantie Amakye Dede, Ghana’s fastest rapper Sarkodie, dynamic duos 4×4 and Wutah, Ghana Rap Osofour Obrafour, R2Bees, VIP, and international artistes such as Donae O and Wande Coal of Bumper to Bumper fame.

Don’t be left out of this experience.

Below are GhanaCelebrities.com predictions for the night. What we think will necessarily not be the outcome of the awards. Therefore we wish all the nominated artistes good luck

A. Artiste(s) Of the Year

The favourite Artistes to win this category will fall on the neck of Sarkodie, 4X4 and Bradez. The competition is straight between those three. SARKODIE will win this but I will not be surprised if Bradez pulls a surprise.

B. Most Popular Song of the Year

There are three songs I hear everyday when I go out, Simple by Bradez, Kotosa by Wutah and World Trade Centre by 4X4. 4X4 are one of my favourite but I don’t like the idea for their song. I feel it’s a mockery of 9/11. Kotosa is good but SIMPLE by BRADEZ deserves it more and will win it
