Wow, Nana Aba Anamoah probably never saw this coming when she decided to play what she called a practical joke on the world.

The lead presenter of TV3’s New Day program, Nana Aba Anamoah, has been suspended by the management of the network after her now infamous #nanaabawasthere twitter gaffe.

Nana Aba ripped off the pictures of some guys who were at Old Trafford to watch United play Sunderland, and then pretended they were taken by her; even doubling down when the real owners of the pictures challenged her.

As a response to the ridicule the presenter has garnered following the incident, and her subsequent apology, the management of her employer, TV3, has decided to suspend the newscaster.

“The Management of TV3 has taken a serious view of the recent media reportage relating to its news anchor, producer and presenter, Ms Nana Aba Anamoah and the alleged online information theft and other unprofessional misrepresentations that have flooded social and other media in the past one-week.” the statement began.

According to the station, after preliminary investigations, Nana Aba’s conduct has fallen short of the standards expected of employees and she ‘has been taken off air until further notice’

“As a broadcast network that prides itself in upholding high ethical standards and delivering credible and trustworthy content to its viewers, TV3 would like to assure viewers and other key stakeholders that it shall continue to take all necessary steps to maintain such standards,” the statement noted.

“We expect guardians of our brand particularly employees who we entrust to deliver content on air to our viewers, to ascribe to the company’s values whatever they are.”

The statement was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of TV3, Mr. Augustus Dickson.
