‘DOUBLE CROSS’ Featuring Ama K. Abebrese, John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang & Others Premieres Tonight in Accra | Don’t Miss It…

httpv://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BH28XLQvFSo

Ghanaians will today have the opportunity to attend the debut showing of the much awaited movie – DOUBLE CROSS – in Ghana—the movie was premiered in UK some few months back.

The movie, which has already received two exceptional awards, will be premiered tonight (February 6, 2015) at the Silverbird Cinemas (Accra Mall & West Hills Mall; 6:30pm for the 1st showing and 9:30 pm for the 2nd showing).

Majority of the audience who were present at the premiere of ‘Double Cross’ in UK described the movie as one of its kind when it comes to the plot, acting skills exhibited by the various cast, as well as the twist and turns employed. Judging from the previous premiere, this is a movie that nobody can afford to miss.

In view of this, GhanaCelebrities.Com caught up with the co-producer, Ama K. Abebrese, and sought from her what the kind of preparation went into filming this amazing movie.

According to her, they were determined not to produce the same old predictable movies Ghanaians have been seeing all the time. With that at the back of their heads, they had to think outside the box and come out with something unique that would be appreciated by Ghanaians and Africans as a whole. As she puts it, “it wasn’t easy coming up with such a plot.”

CEO and Drive Time host of Starr Fm-Bola Ray must have eaten about 5 balls of kenkey to have been able to carry Ama K. Abebrese like this—and we are sure he needed a cough mixer right after the heavy lift.

Ama K. Abebrese was on Bola Ray’s Starr Fm show to talk about the premiere of her co-produced movie-Double Cross on Friday, February 6—and the two decided to take the above shot.

Jackie Appiah has a new hair style—not really giving her face that bright light though…

Becca seems to be eating a lot of Dominican cheese which is going straight down the hips/bum area—unless you want to tell us we are being deceived by the camera. Whatever it is; she is definitely keeping that figure banging, very manageable unlike those we are not so found of…

Singer-Efya stepped out over the weekend and to be frank, her boobies had the biggest freedom we’ve seen in a long time.

Watching the movie Double Cross at the Greenwich Odeon Cinema in London on Friday, my first thought was, they seem to have given away all the goodies in the trailer so what else could possibly interest me….or so I thought.

I’m going to start with the pleasantries because of course pointing out the trash or the critical points is a simple task where reviews are concerned.

Following the screening of the movie when the audience learnt that Double Cross was D.R. Kuffour’s first movie we erupted into applause.

In true African style, the film-makers did drag out a lot of the scenes that could have easily have been shortened. The movie had all the factors that keep an African crowd satisfied and engaged including a very pleasing sound track, I couldn’t quite keep still in my seat at some points.

There were a few gasps, laughs and shouts from the crowd during the screening…I won’t do you the disservice of giving away any plots or twits but certainly, you most definitely will not have a clue what unfolds in this romantic action comedy. Emphasis on the romance…I was entirely convinced by some of the intense attraction that developed between some of the characters. A member in the audience even asked during the Q&A if this was INDEED acting. It was that convincing.

It’s Happening Tonight in London | The Premiere of DOUBLE CROSS Featuring Ama K. Abebrese, John Dumelo, Adjetey Anang, Jasmine Baroudi & Others

Double Cross Premiere in London
Double Cross Premiere in London

Ghanaian actress-Ama K. Abebrese, John Dumelo and Adjetey Anang are currently in London for tonight’s the red carpet premiere of DOUBLE CROSS at the Odeon Cinema in Greenwich (8pm) and you should not MISS it.

African movie lovers who will attend the premiere tonight will get to see something totally different and yet interesting as the movie breaks away from the usual African movie story-lines mostly dominated by witchcraft and unrealistic romance.

In Double Cross “Effie Howard (Ama K. Abebrese) a streetwise programmer’s life is dramatically turned upside down when her fiancé Ben Boateng (Adjetey Anang) is convicted and sentenced for a bank robbery he did not commit. Determined to prove his innocence; she carried out her own investigation and finds the actual robber; Danny Frimpong (John Dumelo) a calm and collected sophisticated genius of a thief who has a personal vendetta against the bank he robbed Neptune Bank International. He robbed the bank using urbane technology which enabled him to enter, steal and exit the bank leaving everyone mystified as to how the theft was carried out, no witnesses, no evidence, yet the money is gone.

Adjetey Anang, Ama K and John Dumelo

She meets Danny and threatens him but later offers him a deal; and it’s to rob the bank again with similar methods as the first so the authorities know the actual robber is still out there, then Danny will not lose what matters to him most and the reason for the bank robbery. She plans to relocate with the stolen money and start a new life with Ben when he is acquitted so as to get away from the stigma attached to ex-convicts and their families. They are successful in the robbing the bank, Effie now sets her sights on a jewellery warehouse and she wants Danny to rob it.

With a lot of jewellery and money at stake, each one of them tries to outwit each other with medleys of smart thinking as they plan and execute the robberies. They meticulously plan the robberies, but no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare them for the dangerous enemy, an enemy Effie least expected and never saw coming; an unexpected turn of events on the day of the robbery, what happened”

We think Ama K. Abebrese fits well in London and she should consider moving back—as she looks less stressed when in UK and  you can see from the photo above that she also looks well put together.

Photos of her out and about in Ghana mostly come up as though she was in a rush to step out—affecting her general outlook and also, she hardly come up as relaxed.

Anyway, over the weekend Ama K. Abebrese caught up with Ghanaian actor-Kofi Adjorlolo who is currently in London too and they shared a Kodak moment.
