The Officer Who Shot Michael Brown-Darren Wilson Has Resigned From the Police Force

The officer at the centre of the series of protests hitting the United States all through this week has officially resigned from his position in the force.

Darren Wilson shot unarmed African American teenager Michael Brown in August this year, hitting the youth six times leading to his untimely death. It continued a spate of brutal police shootings against Black youth, including the recent unfortunate shooting of a 12 year old with a BB-gun.

The aftermath has seen bloody protests erupting all over Ferguson, Missouri; a situation that has intensified within the past week after a grand jury cleared Officer Wilson which meant he was not going to be facing charges. The protests also spread to other cities, notably New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles.

We’ve heard a lot of crap being said about Nigeria and why the country is not a place to visit—leading in corruption as police officers and others will be on your neck all to the time. Also, the filth and the aggresive nature of Nigerian beggers have been a bad experience for many who have visted the country.

Even though our Ghanaain sister-Omo Ghana who is based in Nigeria has in series of articles said Nigeria (Lagos) is not that bad as others paint it, a Yahoo travel writer who has experienced 193 countries has come to say, Nigeria is the worst amongst all the countries he has visited.

Africans must really have good hearts and manners, free from envy to co-exist in the face of the extreme poverty that lies close to the few people enjoying stinking rich lifestyles—-as the continent of abundant resources seems to carter for only a few as the masses live in abject poverty.

In West Africa, the situation is no different, yet some of the few wealthy West Africans such as the Nigerian billionare- Folorunsho Alakija are reported to be spending almost £4 million a week on expensive London properties.

According to MailOnline, ‘while African buyers only account for 1.5 per of transactions in the ‘ultra prime’ London market, they make up five per cent of sales by value – up from two per cent. This is by typically spending between £15million and £25million on each home’.

Though we are not hearing of any of these rich Africans donating to help fight Ebola which is sweeping off people on the Africa continent as though they were insects, the website says ‘the recent Ebola epidemic and continued terrorism from groups such as Boko Haram has resulted in an increase in buyers in recent months’.

On Friday, Queen Elizabeth II made history on Twitter by sending out her first ever tweet as she attended at event at the Science Museum in London.

Interestingly, even before her tweet the BritishMonarchy twitter handled at over 72,000 followers and just after her tweet, over 100,000 people followed her.

Several people retweeted her message and others tweeted at her to get her attention—with some even asking her what her who was her X-factor favourite, as if she was going sit and chat them via twitter.

Most of the messages tweeted at her were supportive as many welcomed her to twitter but as usual, the cyber trolls came out to bully her.

One of the twitter trolls tweeted at the Queen saying; “f*** off and die.”

University of Zimbabwe bans students from kissing

Where else in the world would you come across such nonsense? Definitely, you will catch it in Africa and there are only some few countries this can take place—with Zimbabwe being on top.

University of Zimbabwe has banned or let’s say has made kissing and having seks in public a punishable offence. We have no problem with the latter since no decent individual should even be doing that in public.

But to make it some sort of offence for a person to kiss, hug or be intimate with another in a higher education institution is just plain stupid. Let’s not forget that such institution may also have married couples—and they are expected not to be intimate on campus or else they will face a disciplinary action.

Woman Sexually Assaulted in Toilet On Flight By Passenger

It looks like even the plane is not safe anymore when it comes s*xual assault as US authorities say Michael Tanouye, 29 s*xually assaulted a female passenger in the toilet of a Japan Airlines flight, barricading the door as the victim’s mother and flight attendants tried to rescue her…

The woman was returning home to Japan with her mother after a four-day holiday when she went to use the bathroom—and then the man forced his way into the toilet to attack her.

Luckily, the woman was able to push the emergency button while attempting to fight off the man, according to FBI documents.

The man then blocked the toilet doors from the inside while the woman’s mother and the flight crew as well as other passengers struggled behind the door in an attempt to rescue her, reports Yahoo.

Rev. Juan Demetrius McFarland of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will surely be facing the law for knowingly spreading the HIV virus to his numerous church members.

Dallas Ebola Patient-Thomas Eric Duncan is Dead…

Thomas Eric Duncan, the 42 year old man who brought Ebola to the United States from Monrovia, Liberia 18 days ago has died this morning in a Dallas hospital.

Officials say Eric’s health took a grave turn for the worse this weekend—he succumbed to the virus at 7.51am at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital.

In a statement, Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital said; ‘It is with profound sadness and heartfelt disappointment that we must inform you of the death of Thomas Eric Duncan this morning at 7.51am. Mr. Duncan succumbed to an insidious disease, Ebola.

The problem with social media is that things can quickly reach a lot of people and a lot of people can get into doing things—increasing the risk levels.

Though the Ice Bucket Challenge has been successful for the ASL Charity as they’ve raised more funds than they did in the whole of 2013 within just two months, some people are ignorantly taking the Challenge for publicity purposes—and others are getting into serious problems by taking the challenge.

The death of an 18-year-old boy-Cameron Lancaster, from Burntisland is believed to be linked to the ice bucket challenge craze.

Cameron Lancaster died on Sunday evening. His family described his death as a tragic accident and “a great loss” and said Cameron would be hugely missed by family and friends.
